Growing with Baby: Group Details

Overview of the Group
Attuned Village: Growing with Baby is a supportive group designed for parents and caregivers of babies 18 months and younger. This group provides a space to connect with others at a similar stage of parenthood, share experiences, and gain valuable insights from mental health professionals specializing in Perinatal and Infant Mental Health. The group fosters a sense of community, focusing on parent-baby bonding, self-care, and mental health.

Group Details
Our group is open to 6-8 participants, with the number of attendees adjusted depending on the mobility of the babies. If there are more crawling or walking babies, the group size may be smaller to ensure a calm, manageable environment. We welcome all parents and caregivers. Additionally, child-minding support is available from students, so parents can fully engage in the group.

Purpose and Goals
The primary purpose of Attuned Village is to create a supportive “village” for parents and their babies. Facilitated by therapists specializing in Perinatal and Infant Mental Health, the group offers a space for both parent-baby bonding and parent-to-parent connections. We explore the intricate relationship between parent mental health and infant mental health, supporting parents in their emotional well-being while also nurturing their babies' development. Though not a therapy group, Attuned Village is designed to be therapeutic, offering a space for self-care, mental health education, and shared learning through the collective wisdom of parents and experienced facilitators.
