Youth Psycho-Educational Assessments
We offer a Child and Family centred approach to Psychological Assessment, Diagnosis and Treatment of Learning and Mental Health Challenges.
While our Therapists can work effectively with children and families without a diagnosis, sometimes a full assessment is helpful in identifying or ruling out specific challenges to support a family’s understanding of their child’s strengths, challenges and exceptionalities. There are also times when a diagnosis is required for certain interventions and accommodations, or funding.
We understand that for some families, the decision of whether to have a Psychological Assessment completed for their child is a big one. We are here to help you weigh the challenges and benefits of this decision considering the unique situation of your child and your family, and answer any questions you may have.
If you determine Psychological Services are right for your child, we strive to make your experience a positive one. The comfort and care of your family is our top priority.

How does it work?
First, you complete an Intake Process with our Client Care Team to join our waitlist or book your first appointment.
Initial Assessment
At your first appointment the Psychologist will gain a thorough understanding of your concerns and make recommendations about what to include in the assessment of your child, in order to get a clear picture of what underlying issues are driving the concerns you are seeing in your child.
The Assessment
The Psychologist will then meet with your child several times to help them feel comfortable and during this time your child will complete a series of standardized assessments. Together, these assessments will give the Psychologist diagnostic information.
Feedback
The Psychologist will then meet with you to provide you with a thorough report and feedback. The Psychologist will help you understand the findings of the assessment, answer any questions you have, and make recommendations for addressing the concerns. This will also be an opportunity to discuss how to share feedback with your child in a way that will work for them.
As with our Therapy Services, our Psychology Services are designed and delivered with the intention of providing a safe, supportive, caring and comfortable experience for your whole family. If there is something specific we can do to ensure that this is your experience with us, please do not hesitate to reach out and let us know.
