This is for you if your family is struggling with:
Parenting
Autism Spectrum Disorder
Mental Health and/or developmental challenges (with or without diagnosis)
Challenging behaviour
School avoidance or disengagement
Social challenges
How it works
The Intensive Family Support Program is designed to provide dedicated support for families. Each family’s experience is unique, and the program structure is tailored to meet individual needs. The program combines in-home support for children/youth and parent-focused therapy, alongside monthly collaborative case consults between our Therapists and Child and Youth Workers (CYWs).
You will begin with an intake call with our Client Care Coordinator to see if this is the right support for you. Following this, you'll participate in a 50-minute joint virtual assessment with a Therapist and a CYW. Based on this assessment, we'll develop a personalized treatment plan outlining specific goals and strategies with a feedback session.
The program unfolds over 12 weeks, with the opportunity to extend services if needed.
Program Duration & Structure
Once you have completed the Initial Assessment and receive a personalized treatment plan, the Intensive Family Support Program program begins.
Program Duration: 3 months
Typical Components:
In-Home CYW Sessions: Two 100-minute sessions per week, providing direct support to your child and family within your home
Parent-Focused Therapy: One 50-minute session with a Therapist in office or virtually to empower you with the tools you need
Case Consults: Monthly team consults to collaborate on your child's progress, adjust strategies as needed, and ensure comprehensive support
Continuous Support: Feedback sessions and a final review with recommendations for future steps
Approach & Methodology
Our Intensive Family Support Program is guided by evidence-based therapies and a holistic, family-centred approach. This helps you understand the broader dynamics affecting your child’s behaviour and emotional health and ensures sustainable, long-term support.
Therapeutic Approaches: Therapeutic Approaches: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Family Systems Theory, Emotion-Focused Family Therapy, trauma-informed care, and other modalities as appropriate
Circle of Care: Your core team includes a Child and Family Therapist and a Child and Youth Worker, and may also involve an Occupational Therapist and Psychologist as needed
In-Home Support: These sessions allow for real-time, practical support in your home, reinforcing strategies learned during therapy and alleviating the burden of managing it in your own
Parent Education: We equip parents with the knowledge and tools need to support their child's emotional development, behaviour regulation, and overall mental health.
