Intensive Family Support Program

A program for families who need intensive support as soon as possible so that they can stabilize their home environment and shift challenging patterns.

Services are offered in-home, in-community, in-office, or in other settings that best support positive change. A Child and Family Therapist and Child and Youth Worker collaborate to provide intensive support tailored to the needs of your family, meeting as often as needed to make a meaningful impact. This flexible approach includes options for individual treatment or family therapy.

How it works

  1. Assessment: We start with a comprehensive assessment that can include observations at home or school and clinical assessment in office or virtually.

  2. Plan: Meet with our team to establish service goals and develop a plan for addressing problems identified.

  3. Follow Through: Formal Therapy sessions combined with in-home visits support positive changes in kids, and families while also providing relief and respite to parents while also building capacity.

This is for you if your family is struggling with:

  • Challenging Behaviour

  • Social Challenges

  • School Challenges

  • Anxiety, ADHD, Autism

  • Parenting Challenges

  • Suitable for all children with or without a diagnosis

Who is it for?

Our intensive support program is designed for children of all ages and their parents who are facing various life challenges. It is especially beneficial for families dealing with challenging behaviours, social and school difficulties, and conditions such as anxiety, ADHD, and Autism. Whether your child has a formal diagnosis or not, this program can provide the necessary support. It's also ideal for parents seeking effective strategies to address parenting challenges and improve their connection with their children.

How can it help?

Our intensive support program is designed to help families navigate life and school challenges effectively. Providing in-home support builds important skills in children, increases connection in families, and providing much need respite for caregivers who are overextended given the very real challenges of parenting a child with exceptional needs.

Our program enhances self-regulation and boosts children's confidence in their own abilities. Parents benefit from learning strategies that improve their confidence and connection with their children. Additionally, we facilitate communication with schools, removing barriers and fostering a collaborative environment where parents and school staff work together for the child's best interest.

What does it look like?

We start with a comprehensive assessment that can include observations at home, at school, and clinical assessments in-office or virtually. The assessment will establish a clear picture of the challenges your family is facing, identify goals, and create a plan of action. It will also identify community partners we can collaborate with to create a comprehensive circle of support for your family. Our support includes observation, community support, and therapy tailored to each family's unique needs, which can include occupational therapy and/or psychological services.
